Photos from The Library of Congress

  1. Yeah, I was going through some of them this morning, and thought many had a very haunting quality to them. The color in the 30s/40s set makes many of those really striking/beautiful.

  2. Agreed. Beautiful stuff. Transparency film holds up pretty well, with the added benefit of leaving a physical backup. I imagine hard drive crashes will probably wipe out whole generations of digital records like these.

  3. Yea, I did a Tacoma search but didn’t find anything there. Hopefully they’ll add more to their Flickr postings since it’s so much easier than any Gov. website to browse and search.

  4. I did the same. There are some Seattle photos, but none from Tacoma yet.
